I don't believe the Zeranoe builds include NVDEC.
That's why this post is in the suggestions category.

Thanks.

I notice that when I run zeranoe's wonderful latest build, the banner includes

Code: Select all

--enable-nvenc

Now, to find the latest status of OpenCL ... and try to convince that it can be done and put into a standard zeranoe build :D

NVENC is not NVDEC from what I understand.

Ah. Yes. Checked a home build and I have these specified.

Code: Select all

--enable-nvdec --enable-nvenc --enable-ffnvcodec --enable-cuvid
I wonder, does ffmpeg auto-detect nvdec if you have the nv headers (which I suppose zeranoe must have included so as to get nvenc) ?

ffnvcodec is just cuda.

enable-cuda was renamed to enable-ffnvcodec.

https://lists.ffmpeg.org/pipermail/ffmp ... 12870.html

Nothing to do with NVDEC or NVENC.

ok..

it's quite hard to understand what we need to use nvidia decoding and encoding with all features including -deint x

h264_cuvid AVOptions:
-deint <int> .D.V.... Set deinterlacing mode (from 0 to 2) (default weave)
weave .D.V.... Weave deinterlacing (do nothing)
bob .D.V.... Bob deinterlacing
adaptive .D.V.... Adaptive deinterlacing
-gpu <string> .D.V.... GPU to be used for decoding
-surfaces <int> .D.V.... Maximum surfaces to be used for decoding (from 0 to INT_MAX) (default 25)
-drop_second_field <boolean> .D.V.... Drop second field when deinterlacing (default false)
-crop <string> .D.V.... Crop (top)x(bottom)x(left)x(right)
-resize <string> .D.V.... Resize (width)x(height)

-resize wxh is working
-deint n is not working

This thread was a request for NVDEC to be added to the builds.
Until it is added, you won't be able to use it.
