ffmpeg command image files to mpeg.

Post by jiapei100 »

Hi, all:

I've got a bunch of image files named as:
...
Foscam_1_20130131230915_256.jpg
Foscam_1_20130131230921_257.jpg
Foscam_1_20130131230926_258.jpg
Foscam_1_20130131230930_259.jpg
...
As you can guess, 20130131 is the date of today, 23 is the hour, 09 is the minute, and 15/21/26/30 are the seconds.
Afterwards, there is an image index at the very end of the file name before the suffix .jpg

I tried to combine all .jpg files into a single video file, and I tried the following command:

Code: Select all

ffmpeg -i Foscam_1_20130131230%3d_%3d.jpg aaa.mpeg
But, I obtained the error message:
Foscam_1_20130131230%3d_%3d.jpg: No such file or directory

In addition, ffmpeg -v gives the following info:
$ffmpeg -v
ffmpeg version 0.8.5-4:0.8.5-0ubuntu0.12.04.1, Copyright (c) 2000-2012 the Libav developers
built on Jan 24 2013 18:03:14 with gcc 4.6.3
*** THIS PROGRAM IS DEPRECATED ***
This program is only provided for compatibility and will be removed in a future release. Please use avconv instead.
Missing argument for option 'v'
So, how to combine all image files as listed above into a single video file?

Cheers
Pei

I think it can only have "one" %3d type in it, suggest renaming your files first...

this means you're actually using libav (a prominent ffmpeg fork, but not ffmpeg), so suggest using ffmpeg git master instead, though it hopefully won't make a difference either way...
