brighten screencaps as they're made?

I'm using ffmpeg to capture frames from videos and I'd read that ffmpeg can brighten video but I can't get the codes tested to work with screencapping. it's now been a long time since I tried so I don't even recall exact codes tested.

Code: Select all

ffmpeg -i "C:\Users\T1\Downloads\z\video.ts" -map :0 -vf fps=4 -qscale:v 2 "a:\screencaps\video\video.mkv %d.jpg" ^
is an example of what I use and I'm wondering if it would be possible for the created "video.mkv" jpgs to be lightened as they're created? I like to scan the images created from the videos by displaying them as extra large icons which works well enough for adequately bright videos/ scenes but not dark ones. I understand that I could always brighten the videos and then cap them but that would be much more time and effort intensive.

any and all help would be greatly appreciated!
