dds encoder

Post by AViefhues » Tue May 21, 2019 1:54 pm

Hello together,

I need to encode different input-formats to dds images, but this seems not to work.
It is no problem to read dds files with ffmpeg an convert them to other formats, but I want to write dds.

I tried to find out and ask google but I was not able to find an answer.

Can someone help me oder give me a hint?

Thanks
Alex

DDS? are you able to elaborate more on this? what do you men by DDS? Perhaps DSD? There is SoX modified with PCM to DSD encoding supported https://audiophilestyle.com/forums/topi ... -with-sox/ - sadly to say you need to compile SoX by yourself as seem main SoX repository still not included this jewel within mainline.
I hope ffmpeg will be able to support DSD in future too.

btw seem there is available binary of the SoX with DSD https://sourceforge.net/projects/lmscli ... s/utility/ but DSD bitstream may be still not usable by ffmpeg (not sure if any muxer is able to support DSD).
