Unknown input format: 'gdigrab'

Post by mijsoot » Mon Mar 18, 2019 4:37 pm

Hello everybody,
I need to capture my Windows 8.1 screen that I want to recover then on a Raspberry Pi.

So i've tried this :

Code: Select all

C:\Windows\system32>ffmpeg -v 16 -f gdigrab -framerate 15 -i desktop -vcodec mpe
g4 -q 1 -f avi udp://239.0.1.23:1234
But the return is :

Code: Select all

Unknown input format: 'gdigrab'
What do you think is wrong with it?
Thank you in advance for your help

Perhaps your ffmpeg doesn't support this device (Operating Systems dependent?)

Check what kind of devices are supported by your ffmpeg:

Code: Select all

@echo --------------- >> ff_help_devices.txt
@echo ffmpeg -devices >> ff_help_devices.txt
@echo --------------- >> ff_help_devices.txt
@echo --------------- >> ff_help_devices.txt
@ffmpeg.exe -hide_banner -devices >> ff_help_devices.txt
@echo --------------- >> ff_help_devices.txt
@echo * >> ff_help_devices.txt
@echo --------------- >> ff_help_devices.txt
@echo ffmpeg -sources device >> ff_help_devices.txt
@echo --------------- >> ff_help_devices.txt
@echo --------------- >> ff_help_devices.txt
@ffmpeg.exe -hide_banner -sources device >> ff_help_devices.txt
@echo --------------- >> ff_help_devices.txt
@echo * >> ff_help_devices.txt
@echo --------------- >> ff_help_devices.txt
@echo ffmpeg -sinks device >> ff_help_devices.txt
@echo --------------- >> ff_help_devices.txt
@echo --------------- >> ff_help_devices.txt
@ffmpeg.exe -hide_banner -sinks device >> ff_help_devices.txt
@echo --------------- >> ff_help_devices.txt
