animated webp with alpha channel

Post by xotek » Tue Aug 07, 2018 7:55 am

hello.
i'm trying to transcode an .avi (which has rbg+a) into an animated webp.
i use the following line:

Code: Select all

ffmpeg -i filename.avi -vcodec libwebp -lossless 1 -preset default -an -loop 0 filename.webp
the output file has transparency, however... every frame gets stuck, resulting in the frames overlapping each other.

here's what the out put file ends up looking like: Image

anyone know how to solve this?

I'm facing the same issue. Is there any workaround?

Perhaps using only Intra (and perhaps single P) frames (e.g. IIIII or IPIPIPIP), short and closed GOP?
