Hardware accelerated Audio encoding/decoding

Post by shayben »

Hello everyone,
I am interested in whether ffmpeg supports Hardware acceleration for Audio.
I know that it supports it for Video (where applicable) according to https://trac.ffmpeg.org/wiki/HWAccelIntro.

Any guidelines for Audio?
My specific use case is mostly to encode pcm_s16le .wav files from various sources, mostly .webm.

Thanks!

Perhaps "audiotoolbox" can be considered such a thing, but that's for macOS and, as far as I know, doesn't support pcm_s16le (as for PCM it does support pcm_alaw and pcm_mulaw).
