Strange remux question

Post by APPR3NTIC3 »

I use Plex on my XBOX One., the H.265 files I have aren't working. I read somebody fixed it by remuxing it. I take it it was the way it was encoded is the problem. Can I simply remux it from a H.265 .MKV to a H.265 .MKV file? I like the features of H.265 but want to continue using Plex on my XBOX.

I don't know how well the One supports H.265, but if you just want to remux:

Code: Select all

ffmpeg -i in.mkv -c:v copy -c:a copy out.mkv

If you want to copy all streams from the input use:

Code: Select all

ffmpeg -i input.mkv -map 0 -c copy output.mkv
Otherwise it will use the default stream selection behavior which chooses one stream per stream type and discards the rest if they exist.
