In the last couple of versions I've been having an issue where ffmpeg will randomly freeze mid-encode. There is no crash or error message, it just stops encoding and never finishes. It does this at a random point in the encode, and it doesn't do it repeatably; if I kill one encode and then repeat the same command it will usually complete successfully. It also seems to happen regardless of the command I'm using. so it will happen if I do:
and also using a different codec with a different input and output format:
Code: Select all
ffmpeg -i '.\alpha test.mov' -c:v prores_ks -profile:v 4 -quant_mat 4 -pix_fmt yuva444p10le -alpha_bits 8 'prorestest.mov'
This is on Windows7 x64 with ffmpeg version N-82759-g1f5630a (updated 5/12/2016).
So in short it's the worst kind of bug: entirely non-repeatable. Has anyone else had this happen?
