add libmodplug library

Post by xpn » Wed May 22, 2013 2:28 pm

Hey!

First of all, thanks for the great static builds. They are really useful.
Secondly, could you consider adding libmodplug in the list of external libraries?

"Library for loading and rendering music module files. Supported module types: .669, .amf, .ams, .dbm, .dmf, .dsm, .far, .it, .j2b, .mdl, .med, .mod, .mt2, .mtm, .okt, .psm, .ptm, .s3m, .stm, .ult, .umx, .xm"

http://sourceforge.net/projects/libmodplug/

Thanks!

How exactly did you manage to get libmodplug linked? I ask because I've been struggling with that for a week or so now. Giving it --extra-cflags/ldflags didn't work, moving the detection to pkg-config didn't work, using the same tactic that the patch in sherpya's ffmpeg repo on github uses didn't work...it just does not want to detect it.

Try configuring with:

Code: Select all

extralibs='-lstdc++' ./configure

Giving -lstdc++ to extralibs didn't work either. I just don't get this. libmodplug isn't that important to me personally, but I was trying to get it hammered out for the purposes of a compilation guide. Really, it'd be a better solution for XMP to be supported by ffmpeg, as that would eclipse libmodplug, and chances are it wouldn't have these weird linkage problems.

Can you post your config.log?

That one's using --extra-ldflags="-lstdc++ -lm", but it's the exact same error message as the other variations were.

Where did you get the source code from? There's nothing on this website for download or a version control system.

Thanks, but how did you fix the final linking error of it not finding liibmodplug? I'm stuck there.
