M3U8 Merged and Saved in Raw Format

Post by Zarosa » Thu Feb 08, 2018 5:40 am

I'd like to know how I can get FFMPEG to take the m3u8 url for a http/HLS stream, and dump and save it in its raw format, with the TS segments merged together. Without any encoding or muxing. I've manually done merged the segments together, and the files play great. Encoding a large number of videos is way too resource consuming of my system.

If FFMPEG can't do this, or is not a suitable choice, what other programs would do this?

Combining all the segments involves muxing, so no way around that.

Code: Select all

ffmpeg.exe -i <m3u8-url> -c copy output.ts
Or if you want to mux to mp4:

Code: Select all

ffmpeg.exe -i <m3u8-url> -c copy -bsf:a aac_adtstoasc output.mp4
