FFPROBE path

Post by barabba2005 » Mon Nov 20, 2017 11:24 am

Hi all

I'm using this command without problem:
ffprobe -f lavfi movie=Bars.mpeg,signalstats="stat=brng" -show_frames >bars.txt
but the Bars.mov file is in the same folder of FFPROBE

I'd use a absolute path for .mov and .txt file:
ffprobe -f lavfi movie=c:\Bars.mpeg,signalstats="stat=brng" -show_frames >c:\bars.txt

but i'm reciving this error:
[Parsed_movie_0 @ 0000000000feeac0] Failed to avformat_open_input 'C'
[lavfi @ 0000000000fe98e0] Error initializing filter 'movie' with args 'C:Bars.mpeg'
movie=C:\Bars.mpeg,signalstats=stat=brng: No such file or directory.

Thanks in advance.

I used to struggle with this too whenever using "movie=",

You'll want to escape the colon, ":" and then replace all the back slashes "\" in your path with forward slashes "/"

So,

Instead of
c:\Bars.mpeg

try
c\\:/Bars.mpeg

or

c\\:/path/Bars.mpeg
