Screen capture filter whose CPU utilization is lowest ?

Does any one know , Screen capture filter for FFmpeg whose CPU and memory utilization is lowest ?
I m already fimiliar with

You might get some speedup by capturing in "16 bit" depth. Oh wait the pix_fmt patch hasn't been applied yet, but I hope to get around to it :P

Turning off "aero" which is an option within screen-capture-recorder helps tremendously if you're on windows 7.

Another option that might help is that screen-capture-recorder has a (somewhat inefficient) "dedupe" option so that if it is enabled, it only sends "new" screen captures down the pipeline. Improvements/suggestions for speed improvement welcome.
