air and pipe

Post by chauffeurdevan » Wed Dec 28, 2011 5:27 pm

I'm doing a small application in Adobe Air to compress using ffmpeg an image sequence not starting at zero.

I'm launching ffmpeg using Air native process. I'm using the following ffmpeg command :

ffmpeg -y -r 23.976 -vcodec mjpeg -pix_fmt yuvj444p -s 854x480 -f image2pipe -i - -vcodec libx264 -f h264 -strict -experimental output.mp4

I'm always getting the following message whatever stuff (filename, raw data, etc...) i'm piping through the stdin : Output file is empty, nothing was encoded (check -ss / -t / -frames parameters if used)

Is there any arguments i'm missing ? What am I suppose to pipe, filename or binary ? Any information I should look in the ffmpeg output ?

Hi chauffeurdevan,

I don't understand the pipe syntax, but i can tell that on my systems I have to append 2>&1 to the end of a command to redirect the text output to stdout instead of stderr.

I hope that helps :)
