Windows Nvenc HOWTO?

Post by fatetrader » Sun Mar 13, 2016 3:43 pm

Can anyone post simple steps how to use nvenc when lowering the bitrate of a file.

I've got this command below to do the job

Code: Select all

ffmpeg -i input.mkv -c:v nvenc -r 30 -profile high444p -pixel_format yuv444p -preset hq -crf 30 -b:a 192k output.mkv
I have in one folder:
  • input.mkv file
  • FFmpeg.exe
  • nvEncodeAPI.h
I've read about these commands [--enable-nonfree --enable-nvenc] but when trying them out I get following error

Code: Select all

FFmpeg.exe --enable-nonfree --enable-nvenc

I've read about these commands [--enable-nonfree --enable-nvenc] but when trying them out I get following error
Those commands are for ffmpeg compilation not for ffmpeg usage...
