Way to capture from DirectShow URL?

Post by chriswiggins » Tue Mar 08, 2016 1:52 am

Hi all,

I have a specific CCTV camera system that provides a Directshow SDK which is handy because I want to on-forward streams with ffmpeg. The difficulty I'm hitting is to actually get any output from the filter with FFMPEG as due to the dynamic nature of a video recorder, it requires you to use a URL to set up the directshow chain

e.g

Code: Select all

TheDX://localhost:80?authtype=2&cameraid=123-123-123
When I enter this into GraphEdit it can play the stream fine on screen, is there anything in FFMPEG that can do this automatically? I've tried with an AviSynth file but am hitting "too old" issues as well as figuring out how this could be done as I'd like to stay away from creating files for each camera

Help greatly appreciated :)

how do you enter this in graphedit?
if you can create a grf file you can use avisynth to "suck in from that" as it were...
