ffserver.exe for windows (precompiled)

Post by ikriz »

Has anyone been able to compile ffserver.exe?
If not why isn't it available on windows?

ffserver uses some native Linux coding and MinGW-w64 does not support those features.

Even if ffserver could be compile, it is badly outdated and it is advised to not use it as a streaming server.

as far as i know the ffserver functionality has not been implemented into ffmpeg?
Do you know of any good alternatives?

Can ffmpeg do multiple rtp/rtsp streams over unicast udp?

I wake up a old topic. But now ffserver exist for Windows of still not ?
If no, what do you recommended me for Windows. The idea is to have the possibility to stream video from files or video devices (laptop screen, camera, blackmagic, ...)

I don't think it does yet. Anyway there are other servers that may work for you in windows (nginx rtmp perhaps? vlc? https://trac.ffmpeg.org/wiki/StreamingGuide)
