Re: Support for external libfaac would be nice.

patent encumberment (this word probably doesn't exist =) is not related to the licensing issue. yes, it is very likely ffmpeg is heavily patent encumbered, since mostly everything besides "hello, world!" is patent encumbered (even this is debated). ffmpeg devs' stances are "we don't care about paten...

Re: sws_scale screws up last pixel row

it's most likely a bug in sws_scale. fast_bilinear sucks a bunch, try avoiding it. we need to know what algorithm was used by swscale (turn on swscale debugging through sws_flags). we also need to know the output pixel format (I suppose it's yuv420), and how you are taking the output yuv file and tu...

Re: video flips after being copied

Re: Difference between ubuntu and windows version of ffmpeg

there's no real standard way to use pkg-config (really, their website is horrible in that regard, they don't know how to use the beast they've created). I don't think they had much knowledge on cross-compilation when they created pkg-config. what would make the most sense is to use i686-w64-mingw32-...

Re: legal use of ffmpeg

in 99.999% of cases they don't release source code. send them an e-mail asking for ffmpeg source code, if they don't reply, file a but report in ffmpeg's issue tracker with their information. a couple of years ago the sflc was taking care of some of those issues, but I don't know how it works anymor...
