Re: Arrozcru wiki taken down

I exported a backup some time ago and gave it to some guys at FFmpeg that wanted to create an official forum and keep my old stuff in some specific section. Unfortunately that forum never materialized... I don't want to have to maintain stale and outdated (and sometimes even wrong) information. Is i...

Arrozcru wiki taken down

Hi,

I've taken down the wiki at arrozcru.org. It was too outdated and spreading wrong information.

I will remove the forum <http://ffmpeg.arrozcru.org/forum/> as well on January 18th 2013.

Re: Static .lib compile of lbav

if you want to strip debug information you have to run "strip -x xxx.a" before linking. apparently it's now possible to compile ffmpeg with msvc (I haven't tested though).

Re: License in commercial closed sourced program

if you ship ffmpeg.exe you must make the exact source code available (it doesn't matter if you modified it or not, you still have to supply source code). your program doesn't have to be (L)GPL.

Re: error: `WEOF' undeclared

it can be done on windows using msys. it's just not worth it. it's faster to install a linux vm and cross-compile

Re: DirectShow Capture support

try -c:v
but I agree it's misleading to call it one thing on dshow and another on the command line. I'll try to fix that.

Re: DirectShow Capture support

Updated patches sent to ffmpeg-devel =)

gijsendamir, we'll let you know once the patches get in and zeranoe issues a new build, then I'd like you to post the output of list_options to see if there's anything I can do about it.
