gambr, it's because you were doing it wrong =)

That list has many many items (most actually) that are not related to the LGPL. It even says:
"There are also a few items that are not really related to LGPL compliance but are good ideas anyway."

Best thing is to read the license yourself...

you need to give us a minimal testcase to reproduce the crash (smallest possible command-line that triggers it and input file if necessary)

the code to handle 8-bit and 10-bit is considerably different. from what I understand, libx264's size would more than double to support both in the same build.

The output I gave is with "-v 9 -loglevel debug", and it shows no difference as if without it or with "-v 9" alone, thats another issue. Hm, that line was taken from vfwcap and probably doesn't apply to dshow. You could try listing the options with "-list_options true" I tried the version you sugge...
