Please provide a sample peak file. Is it just an image of the waveform? If yes you can use showwaves, showwavespic, or waveform filters instead.

For zoom see zoompan filter.

You can add/change/modify both global and stream metadata with ffmpeg. If you stream copy (remux) with "-c copy" then it will not re-encode.

Here's an example ffprobe command:

ffprobe -loglevel error -select_streams v:0 -show_entries stream=codec_name -of default=nk=1:nw=1 input.foo
It will output h264 if the video is H.264, and something else if it is not H.264.

The scripting will be up to you.

Never heard of anything like that before. Which Windows version? Does it occur on just one machine? How can we duplicate this issue? You should show your command and complete console output.
