Problem using concat mp4 files using ffplay

I have finally figured out how to segment a stream into multiple files and now I'm trying to play those same files (encoded using mpeg4). I have tried a number of different combinations with different results. 1) ffplay concat:out000.mp4|out001.mp4 -fs This plays both files at the same time in 2 dif...

Re: Stream Capture Dropped Frames

I used vlc and ran 2 captures one with --vcodec h264 and one with --vcodec mpeg4. I couldn't tell a difference in cpu loading of either and both files were the same size of 18K so I don't know. I did play around with ffmpeg and different options. The quality was very good out of the box (all default...

Re: Stream Capture Dropped Frames

I found a codec that works almost the same as the VLC default. The default codec for ffmpeg for my stream is h264. I forced the codec to be mpeg4 but this was not enough. For whatever reason (defaults probably) the bit rate was about 1500bps. The capture on playback was terrible so I set the bit rat...

Re: Stream Capture Dropped Frames

Here is the ffmpeg video file information: General Complete name : C:\Users\BrinkS2012\Desktop\ffplay\XXXrecord.mp4 Format : MPEG-4 Format profile : Base Media Codec ID : isom File size : 4....

Re: Stream Capture Dropped Frames

I've tried -vdodec copy a number of times and it just seems to not work on streams. My command line is as you suggested: ffmpeg.exe -rtsp_transport tcp -i rtsp://192.168.1.160:554/VideoInput/1/h264/1 -t 00:00:12 -y -vcodec copy -acodec copy XXXrecord.rm 2>outXXX.txt The output was: ffmpeg version N-...

Re: Stream Capture Dropped Frames

Is there any kind of hw accelerator that can be turned on? I was trying different bitrates and the recorded file on playback starts skipping about 2Mbps. The VLC is clearly a higher quality recording and looks lik it is running at about a 8Mbps rate. I've tried different ffmpeg codecs but all with r...

Re: Stream Capture Dropped Frames

Is this showing that mp41avc1qt is the vlc codec? Here is the output: ffmpeg version N-41416-g718607b Copyright (c) 2000-2012 the FFmpeg developers built on Jun 8 2012 12:49:40 with gcc 4.6.3 configuration: --enable-gpl --enable-version3 --disable-w32threads --enable-runtime-cpudetect --enable-avisy...

Re: Stream Capture Dropped Frames

I tried both codecs and the processing speed was much better but the quality was not good compared to the default codec. My stream is full HD 1080P 30fps. I'm still trying to figure out the vlc codec and why it requires such little cpu loading. If I do figure out the vlc codec is it possible to try ...

Re: Stream Capture Dropped Frames

I don't know what codec VLC is using I'm too new at this and it will take me a little time to figure out how to see the codec. I was wondering it myself and I'll get back to you. Thanks!!
