I am a beginner myself, but I have figured out how to turn each frame of an mpeg into an AVFrame* encoded as simple RGB. I have confirmed (by dumping them as ppm file) that they are the full RGB frame. If you can figure out how to a) turn those into I frames b) keep the audio in sync I can share my ...

I stream training videos from work, but don't have a great connection and get a lot of buffering. I have captured the streamed video from the PC screen into an mpg file. Linked to nightly gives an exe that fails to launch with a missing entry point (sws_getContext)

Using the 3.4.1 build works fine using exactly the same VS2015 project
