How to encode in g729

I need to generate WAV files encoded in g729.

I've found this bcg729 project, and I was able to build and compile it. But I have no clue on how to use it.

How can I convert files using this bcg729's encoder/decoder?

Re: How can I make WMA codec's bit rate lower than 24k?

MP3 is supported but has a bad quality at 8kbps (adds some sort of echo/metalic wheezing). AAC is much worse at such low bit rate. Can't find anything that matches this jurassic wmavoice encoder at 5kbps, much less WMP compatible.

I also tried the other forum.

Thanks anyway.

Well, so much has passed since I created this topic... First off, I learned that WMAV1/2 simply won't work with bit rates lower than 24kbps. So I believe there's no need for that command output. My problem right now is: I either need a wmavoice ENCODER available for ffmpeg, or a way to generate a lo...

How can I make WMA codec's bit rate lower than 24k?

Long story short, I need to convert audio files from WAV to WMA . "Can't you use other formats?" Well, maybe, as long as it is natively supported by Windows Media Player and has the same quality as WMA (Real Media, MP3 and OGG are out of question). There are a few others in ffmpeg which will convert...
