Re: Problems with av_freep.

Yes, of course.
It will not work otherwise.

I observed my crashes sometimes, and sometimes it worked smoothly.

Problems with av_freep.

I was using av_freep() function across my project to free memory and zero pointers in one go. However, sometimes, I was noticing very strange application crashes. Output log contained very similar error messages saying something like "the application tried to modify memory 22 bytes beyond the heap p...

Re: linking error from vs2008

Try to perform more experiments with the link line.
Order of libraries matters with static linking.
Also make sure, you've surrounded libav headers with

Code: Select all

extern "C" {

}

zouhair wrote:Hello,
Actually the libraries in http://win32.libav.org/ are not FFmpeg libraries.
The libraries you are using are from libav and not ffmpeg.
But if it works :D .
Libav is a fork of FFmpeg, they don't differ too much on the source code level.

Re: How to bypass av_open_input_file

This method is obsolete in the latest versions.
One should use AVIOContext instead

Re: Working with network streams

Default low-level buffer seems to be 32kb long. Libav first loads about 5Mb of data and uses them to determine format. You can change this amount by changing AVFormatContext::max_analyze_duration. In my code I have input->max_analyze_duration = 2 * AV_TIME_BASE; // read 2 seconds of data These data ...

Re: FFmpeg and Visual Studio 2008

Hello, I am trying to make my Visual Studio 2008 (C++) project use FFmpeg libraries ... .lib files that I build my project against. It links fine, but I cannot run it as is: it complains about missing DLLs like avformat-53, and others. My first question is why does it do it? Why does it require the...

Re: Debug/Debug output

That's impossible,
Visual Studio doesn't understand GCC debug information format.

Re: Compile FFMPEG with SDL support for integrate in winform

No, that's not necessary.
All codecs are statically linked in. Or, why, do you think, it is so large? :)
FFmpeg's codecs are among them.

It is simply able to load windows DLLs with DirectShow codecs and execute their code, but this is an additional feature.
