Building in libmp3lame

I'm building ffmpeg under Linux. Yes, I know, this is a windows site, but still someone might have some insight into this problem. The customized ffmpeg build system demands that external libraries be recognized by pkg-config before it will build them into ffmpeg. pkg-config looks for a small compan...

Encode MP4 videos with FFMPEG and Nero AAC encoder

When Adobe decided to support the MP4 format in its Flash player, MP4 quickly became a widely accepted standard. How to encode quality MP4 files, though? For the video stream, there is VideoLAN's x264. But for audio? Users of publically distributed FFMPEG builds usually have at most two choices: lib...

Re: MinGW now builds Vista binaries by default

Thanks for the link, much appreciated. That was the discussion I was looking for, but didn't find because I didn't search on the "right" keywords. Instead, I found the articles linked in my original post, which gave me the idea that this is a MinGW issue. Thanks again.

Re: MinGW now builds Vista binaries by default

I just tried your latest, "ffmpeg-20140324-git-63dbba6-win32-shared," which fails in WinXP32 SP3 with the same error in Kernel32.dll as described above. Does this mean it is now necessary to subscribe to a custom ffmpeg build to get WinXP support? Steve Balmer will certainly thank you, if it does. :|

MinGW now builds Vista binaries by default

MinGW now builds Vista executables by default because the Windows API headers that MinGW uses are based on M$'s Windows SDK, and the latest version(s) of the SDK have made Vista the default minimum platform (since Win 2K has been deprecated for years and Win XP's end of life comes in about 2 weeks)....
