Re: how to cross compile ffmpeg with nvidia cuda_sdk and libnpp

Answer from rdp in the link in the post above. The only extra that is necessary to cross-compile with it under Ubuntu is to install clang and add "--enable-cuda-llvm" to the build options. The nvidia SDK is not needed to be installed under Ubuntu, and no dependencies are needed to be installed under...

Re: Happy Christmas

Thank you Louis ! :D And wishing you a good and prosperous new year. Perfect, well let us perhaps suggest "close enough". I have found TV recordings get "better" over time, eg old 576i recordings are being superseded by 1080i repeats ;) ... and using the latest ffmpeg option choices and nvenc on a 2...

Re: nvenc_hevc encoding received "B-adapt disabled" message

Ah, had a look at the code and "-rc-lookahead" forces b-adapt to become off. https://git.videolan.org/?p=ffmpeg.git;a=blob;f=libavcodec/nvenc.c;h=111048d043263fc852dfbe48912b378f1b2d7977;hb=ba6b20df3f74a6092dc01023b07760da58188d82 Not sure what the real-world effect of removing that and having b-ada...

nvenc_hevc encoding received "B-adapt disabled" message

Hello. I am attempting to use ffmpeg to transcode h.264/avc .mp4 files into hevc .mp4 using nvenc with a RTX 2060 SUPER. I note at the bottom of the log below the message "B-adapt disabled". I did not intentionally do it ! ;) So, 1. what does "B-adapt disabled" mean and what is its effect ? Is it ju...
