Re: Converting 16 bit SGI to 8 bit RGB

What is ffmpeg doing to convert 16 bits per color sgi to 8 bits per color RGB. That's what I want to know. Is it just doing a divide by 256; shift right by 8?

Converting 16 bit SGI to 8 bit RGB

I'm converting 2160p SGI files that I got from vqeg.its.blddoc.gov into an RGB24 AVI video sequence using the following command: ffmpeg -start_number 07111 -r 50 -vsync 0 -i %%5d.sgi -vcodec rawvideo -pix_fmt rgb24 -r 50 -y D:\SVT_CrowdRun_3840x2160p_60_8b_RGB_500.avi The AVI file looks good when I ...

Encode with motion vector range 0

Is there a way to restrict the motion vector range on P frames to 0? I used the following command and analyzed the encoded output and I can see the P frames using motion vectors that are not 0. ffmpeg -i d:\TestSet_3840x2160_30_8b\BLENDER_bigbuckbunny_3840x2160_30_8b_sRGB_444_306.avi -preset ultrafa...

Motion Estimation Range of 0

I need to limit the motion estimation range of P blocks to 0. I used the following, but after inspecting the encoded output, there are motion vectors that are not 0. ffmpeg -i d:\TestSet_3840x2160_30_8b\BLENDER_bigbuckbunny_3840x2160_30_8b_sRGB_444_306.avi -preset ultrafast -profile high444 -bf 0 -g...
