Re: Check collection of MKVs and convert only if they have DTS

Using a combination of bash, mediainfo, and ffmpeg: #!/bin/bash set -e mkdir audio-converted if mediainfo --inform="Audio;%Format%" "$1" | grep DTS > /dev/null ; then ffmpeg -i "$1" -vcodec copy -acodec flac "audio-converted/${1%.*}-flac.mkv" fi Save that snippet as dtstest.sh, and then run it on an...

Yeah, --enable-nonfree is definitely going to be an issue.

It would be better if I could just get GnuTLS to work instead.
mbedTLS (a.k.a. the project formerly known as PolarSSL) is far simpler to build than the GnuTLS stack and has no license conflicts.

Re: ffplay uncompiled when ffmpeg did compile

The right way to install pkg-config is to use MSys2's provided package manager: pacman -S msys/pkg-config Making MSys2 inherit the Windows PATH values means making sure msys2.ini at least looks like this: CHERE_INVOKING=1 MSYS2_PATH_TYPE=inherit MSYSTEM=MSYS MSYS2_PATH_TYPE=inherit is mandatory; CHE...

Re: Building in libmp3lame

Okay, let's try to start out at the beginning. You don't need to rename any of the .pc files installed by the individual projects. FFmpeg uses the names as they were installed (not that I think it matters, as I'm pretty sure pkg-config only cares about the Name: field in the *.pc file itself). They ...

Re: FFMPEG, convert MP3 to M4A - Errors - Need help

They have attached cover pictures, and you're trying to convert it to H.264 (with it apparently assuming non-valid parameters because it's a single image, not a video stream). No wonder it doesn't work.

Copy the cover art (-vcodec copy / -c:v copy), don't convert it.

Re: building libcaca into ffmpeg

perhaps you could drop me a link to an ffmpeg.exe so I could try it on my windows xp box? :) Slightly newer FFmpeg build, same libcaca: http://www.mediafire.com/?l46g4iy82do494h Patches: datetime , silent_invoke , x265_main12 , and more_pkgconfig . None of which change anything in regard to libcaca...

Re: Script to help with cross compiling

I wonder, re building x264.exe in addition to ffmpeg as a part of the process ; the resulting x264.exe does not accept either .mpg or .mp4 as input ... is there any chance of changing the compilation (32bit and 64bit) of x264.exe to do that ? ?? eg I gather that may be: for input file: lavf support...

Re: building libcaca into ffmpeg

for followers, libcaca git is https://github.com/cacalabs/libcaca now (though apparently not windows XP friendly anymore, if anybody has some trick there do let me know). Works here with the same block of instructions I posted earlier (only change being the repo url). caca HEAD build from 2015-12-0...

Re: Best way to benchmark 32 vs 64 bit transcodes

You can compare decoding with: ffmpeg -i input -f null - (Windows users may have to use NULL instead of -, but I'm not sure about that). No need to use NULL on Windows, - will work fine. I was running benchmarks yesterday or the day before to find total number of frames FFmpeg could detect in a fil...
