aac audio track doesn't decode correctly

Postby amistuff » Wed May 18, 2011 10:43 am

Hi,

When I convert the aac audio track from this file to wav:

http://samples.mplayerhq.hu/V-codecs/AV ... (ateme1022).mp4

ffmpeg -i NeroRecode_STD_AVC_(ateme1022).mp4 out.wav

I get only one click at the beginning of the audio and next only silence.

Could you check why this happen with your build?

If you find where is a problem and will think this is ffmpeg's bug, please comment here, so the issue can be fixed:

https://ffmpeg.org/trac/ffmpeg/ticket/213

Have you tried playing it with different players?

The problem happens with your ffmpeg 32-bit static build. Do you get correct audio with this file when playing it with ffplay?

Just encoded your sample with win32 static b4bcd1e like this:

Code: Select all
ffmpeg -i "NeroRecode_STD_AVC_(ateme1022).mp4" "out.wav"

I was able to play back the .wav just fine, I did get the warnings during the encode, but playing the output .wav with ffplay seemed fine. I was able to seek and the audio did not cut out.

Please be specific about whats happening.

Hmm, that's really strange. I test on Athlon XP, so maybe some asm optimization doesn't work correctly on my CPU or something.

hmm shouldn't the encode codec be listed?

ffmpeg.exe -y -i input.mp4 -acodec pcm_f32le output.wav

As a note this ticket is marked as fixed, so I presume this particular problem no longer occurs...
