trying to run latest ffmpeg build in windows vista business 64 bit OS

Post by manit123 » Sun Aug 06, 2017 12:54 pm

hi ,
I have windows vista business edition (64 bit) , service pack 2 .

viewtopic.php?t=3728 tells me that builds after june 2016 do not support windows vista.
https://ffmpeg.zeranoe.com/builds/win64/static/ gives oldest build of november 2016 .
ditto for https://ffmpeg.zeranoe.com/builds/win32/static/.

So
I read viewtopic.php?f=13&t=3572

here is what I did
(1)Downloadedhttps://ffmpeg.zeranoe.com/builds/win64/static/ffmpeg-20170804-44e9783-win64-static.zip (link in blue button labelled "download ffmpeg" on https://ffmpeg.zeranoe.com/builds/)
(2)Un-zipped it .

(3)Got sfk187.exe from https://sourceforge.net/projects/swissf ... p_redirect
(4)Copied it to C:\Users\myname\Downloads\ffmpeg-20170804-44e9783-win64-static as sfk.exe

(5)created FixFF4XP.bat
containing
@for %%a in (/7363616E665F73/7363616E660000/ /7374726E6370795F73/7374726E6370790
000/ /5F77666F70656E5F73/5F77666F70656E0000/ /737472746F6B5F73/737472746F6B0000/
) do sfk replace -binary %%a -dir bin -file .exe .dll -yes

Ran
(6)c:\Users\myname\Downloads\ffmpeg-20170804-44e9783-win64-static>FixFF4XP.bat
OUTPUT
c:\Users\myname\Downloads\ffmpeg-20170804-44e9783-win64-static>sfk replace -binary
/7363616E665F73/7363616E660000/ -dir bin -file .exe .dll -yes

c:\Users\myname\Downloads\ffmpeg-20170804-44e9783-win64-static>sfk replace -binary

[001/1/0] bin\ffmpeg.exe
[001/1/0] bin\ffplay.exe
[001/1/0] bin\ffprobe.exe

[001/1/0] bin\ffplay.exe

(7)Still ffmpeg.exe gives a window 'ffmpeg.exe - entry point not found' titled window containing 'the procedure entry point getnumanodeprocessormaskex could not be located in the dynamic link library kernel32.dll' .

What did I do wrong ?
ff-prompt.bat is mentioned on viewtopic.php?f=13&t=3572 . From , where did that file come ?
here is my folder
c:\Users\myname\Downloads\ffmpeg-20170804-44e9783-win64-static>tree /f
Folder PATH listing
Volume serial number is 1C8C-7ED3

Re: trying to run latest ffmpeg build in windows vista business 64 bit OS

Perhaps I do not fully know your question asked. There is one suggestion which you can try. Have you tried to do something like, Is static one or is shared one? Presume you have provided a static one. You can try "ffmpeg -i Bigfile.ts smallfile.mp4" in extracted folder via console before you set a hardlink acting like windows's default program. There are at least seventy important commands like copy, delete, dir pre-defined.

I believe there is no one use the default batch file to execute the program. I also have been doing a lot, now I need to include some specific made thing to suit the actual need such as low rounding-error when re-transformed for a specific system.

ffmpeg works with windows xp, but I don't think Zeranoe's default complied can do the thing since the build includes some GPU specific modules which makes problem. I think Zeranoe should provide a true headless for people.

My re-compiled can do more than that, someone has developed a semi-auto script to do the right thing. I can make a true headless execute, or I only left the dxva2 decoder, full decoder, full remuxers, full protocols, sin weak encoders, ts muxer, mp4 muxer, matroska muxer for you.

If failed, I can help you, Please tell me which codec you use the most as I have been designing which should give to people free of charge.
