Manolito, thanks for sharing your position on the legal question.
Ok, we have a different approach. Fine with me. I think we can leave it as is and agree to disagree... ;)
No hard feelings.

Now purely on the technical level: I understand your decision and think it is a good one (nothing personal).

Thanks again for your helpful feedback and comments.

Version 1.2 published on http://www.muxson.com/winloud

Some bug fixes,
Added "As original" option for the Sampling Frequency (is default),
Loudness background color change according to selected Loudness,
Check mark color based on normalization result.

A bit late to the party I know but I've just been checking out Loudnorm and WinLoud and I'm quite impressed with the results - certainly up to the mark of Auphonic's Loudness Normalizer IMHO.

Out of interest:

What do the three colored check marks (green, orange, red) actually represent in terms of the normalization result ?

Hi Inapickle,

It is never too late to discover good things! ;)

My experience with Auphonic was much better then with Loudnorm (/WinLoud)!
But I guess it depends on the circumstances (Target Lougness, LRA, TP and file encoding).

The tick is green if the desired Loudness is reached (+/- 1LU), LRA and TP are lower than the limits.
It is orange if LRA is bigger than the limit.
It is red if the Loudness is out of tolerance (+/- 1LU).

Sorry, that was not necessarily self explanatory.
Hope that helps now...

Good luck with your work.

OK thanks for the clarification. Yes, after wider testing I would agree that Auphonic is more reliable than Loudnorm when it comes to processing short audio samples especially. On the other hand the Auphonic Loudness Normalizer doesn't permit setting the target LRA and TP.

Agree on that you cannot set the LRA in Auphonic.
You can set TP though. See in Preferences/Algorithm Details/Maximum peak level...

But I won't expand more on Auphonic here as it is off topic.
You can PM me for more exchange if you want.

That's the desktop version though; I use the web service which defaults to -1dBTP for EBU R128 (-23 LUFS) and higher, which is fine for my purposes.
