Remote location for Input Video

Post by vbdavid » Fri Sep 15, 2017 12:46 pm

I have developed a Windows Desktop application that among other things will convert/resize and put a text overlay on the output video. Prior to building the output string in my code I test in a coand prompt.

This works in a command prompt
ffmpeg -i "cher.flv" -vf drawtext="fontfile=/windows/fonts/arial.ttf: \text='Huntley': fontcolor=white: fontsize=12: \ x=(w-text_w)/2: y=(h-text_h)/2" testoverlay.mp4

In the example above both the input and output files are local. What I need to do is be able to specify a remote location for the input file (and the output file as well). For example:

ffmpeg -i "K:\Test Video\cher.flv" -vf drawtext="fontfile=/windows/fonts/arial.ttf: \text='Huntley': fontcolor=white: fontsize=12: \ x=(w-text_w)/2: y=(h-text_h)/2" testoverlay.mp4

I know I need to escape the colon but even when I do that it does not work.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!
